To create a personal Generational Story album to record your history and upload your photos and videos for yourself or someone else, login to your Generational Story account.
You will be taken to your album view where you can view your albums and create new ones. If this is your first album, your album tab will indicate it is empty. Selecting either the ‘new album’ or ‘create new album’ will take you to the album selection screen.
From here you may choose either a Free Trial, Standard, Lifetime or Legacy album. New account owners will also have the option to start a free trial album if they haven't created one already.
To create an album, all you need to do is enter the title, typically the name of the person or persons you will be interviewing. Optionally, you can upload a photo for the album cover.
If you want others to be able to record clips into and edit your album, enter the name and email address of the individual in the contributor section.
You may add one contributor on a trial album, 5 on a standard album and 10 on a legacy album.
When you finish click on the ‘create new album’ button. An invitation will automatically be emailed to all contributors notifying them that they have editor access to that album.
Note that if you entered a company name, your brand name is displayed in righthand corner for all your albums.
Your album will appear in your album view along with any other albums you create or are invited to join as a contributor - ready for you to record and store precious memories for family and friends.
We take our promise of preserving personal histories seriously. If it’s your first time buying an album you will be asked for a legacy contact.
The legacy contact is simply an optional alternate contact. In the event that something happens to you and the account goes dormant, this gives us someone to reach out to that may decide to maintain the account. You may add it later in the ‘account window’ found in the drop down menu next to your name in the top righthand corner.
