How to pre plan an interview
Generational story allows users to record spontaneously or pre-plan an interview in advance.You may add questions to pre-plan your interview from either your mobile app or online.
From your mobile app, select an album then ‘add questions’ or 'add & edit questions'.
From the web app, select your album and go to the ‘Plan Interview’ tab.
Adding Questions: From here, you may select questions from our curated bank of suggested questions, create custom questions or access templates you previously made online.
Clicking 'suggested questions’ displays Generational Story questions cataloged by topic.
Click a topic to quickly select all questions under that heading or manually deselect or select individual questions. Then click ‘Add.”
By clicking on ‘type Custom question’ you may type in your own unique questions. Add as many as you like. When you finish, click ‘ add’’ to place them in your template.
If you have created your own templates, you will find them under My Templates. You may choose to add an entire template or selective portions.
Edit & Delete Questions: Clicking on the edit icon on the app will take you to the screen to edit and delete questions. On the web you can hover over questions to see the edit or delete buttons.
Reorder Questions: The double line on the left allows you to click and drag questions to rearrange their order. On mobile, you must click ‘save’ to retain the new order.
Once your interview outline is created, Generational Story allows you to seamlessly advance through your questions while you are recording either from the app or with the remote video call feature - always with the option to skip a question or go off script with a custom recording at any time.
If you have signed up for email reminders, you will get periodic emails (based on the frequency you chose) to record your next question until you have exhausted your queue.
